I received a set of friendship tree blocks of various sizes in a Pine Belt Quilters guild drawing. I had one very large pieced tree block from another project, so by combining my large block with the other blocks and adding a trunk, I was able to form a huge tree, set on a background of Log Cabin blocks for sky and ground. I quilted it on a friend's longarm machine, adding tree branches superimposed over the entire tree. This quilt won Honorable Mention at Pine Belt Quilters 11th Biennial Show, October 7-8, 2006, Hattiesburg, MS
