Layering, slashing,
rejoining, and inserting were employed
to create this piece reminiscent
of Chinese art. When I entered
it into the Quilt the Swamp exhibit
at the Bluebonnet Swamp Nature
Center in Baton Rouge, it needed
a more "bayou sounding name," so
it became Black Water. It has a
dual personality. It won 2nd place
in Pine Belt Quilters 10th Biennial
show, October 2003, Hattiesburg,
MS.
