Slashed Trees

21 X 19

In the Collection of Sarah Ellen Gillespie at William Carey University

This piece incorporates textile paints, air pen, cutting and reassembling, and heavy quilting. After Hurricane Katrina caused so much damage to South Mississippi 's beautiful trees, this piece represents a “putting back together” and finding beauty in spite of the tragedy.
